Being helpful is at the core of my business strategy

The simplicity of this belies its highly sophisticated and profound nature (!)

Every article I write, email I send or interaction I have is intended to help someone clarify their thinking and make them grow.

That’s my thing, helping people clarify their thinking and develop better habits.

Having wholesome healthy habits improves your life by making things easier.

Clarifying your thinking ensures you focus your energy.

Most often, it’s our fuzzy thinking that leaves us searching for a target.

Or has us moving in any random direction, because our target is not clear.

Going into an interaction with this helpfulness mindset, means I must focus on the other person, the reader or listener, whether they are a client or not. You cannot be self-serving and must not have an imaginary meter running in the background.

This mindset also forces me to position myself not across the table from the other person, but rather next to her. In sales I would call this being an “assistant buyer” rather than a seller.

Being helpful is about investing in the future. Not immediate ROI.
